Girl band verses Holland and Germany
Holland, Germany and Van Diesel
After 18 shows in 19 days including a tv appearance and a lot of miles clocked on The trusty band van that is Van Diesel. I’m happy to report we are all back in the UK safe and sound.
Too early to rise
Wednesday 19th started way to early. We wanted to say a huge Thankyou to Tash’s mum for driving us two hours to the airport at 3am! The price you pay for live music.
Early mornings & old friends
Ons cafe was our first venue. We were greeted by Gerda (who I met on the Bollands tour) Treated to a delicious home cooked meal and explore around the town, it was a nice opening to the beginning of tour.
Thursday we traveled to Den Heilige Cornelius where we were well looked after by Corne that I had met on the Crook and Bluff Tour.
It was another earlier morning start on Friday where we traveled to make our first TV appearance in Holland on Noardewyn. You can check out the link below.
After exploring Groningen on Friday we performed at Lola, a really beautiful music venue with textured wall paper and a chandelier.
Saturday night we played at Het Spektakel and I even met a kiwi from Christchurch at the gig. It Was nice to be back at Bluescafe but this time with the whole band. Monday we played at Irish Pub Home on a Holiday in The Netherlands. Greeted with gifts of chocolate, we knew this was a fabulous start to the day. Starting at 2pm meant we could enjoy the festivities afterwards that included multiple ride on the Bumper cars.
Cowboy und Indianer is always a “pace yourself” gig ... 1) it’s on the Reeperbahn In Hamburg 2) they pour whisky like water. We survived 🙌
Belami and their delicious home style cooked food was a welcome change from Frits and burgers. With a lovely attentive audience, we really enjoyed the whole evening.
I always look forward to playing at Cafe Vereinshoes. Will the owner always cooks a feast and there is some great exploring around the town. You know it’s fun gig when even the over 70 year old are on the dance floor grooving. The next day we headed to the three country border in Vaals and stood in Germany, Holland and Belgium.
I celebrated my birthday on tour. The girls made the day so special from midnight to midnight. ⭐️
Das Greif had to be our highlight gig of the tour. Complete with Rockstar stage, full scale light rig with flames and an awesome audience. Thanks to Barrow and Parker for opening up the show and Lee and Bob for all the work they put in.
The waterhole in Amsterdam was a sweet Monday night gig.
At Shakespeare Pub we found a little bit of England hidden in a small picturesque German town. This was a lovely energy in the crowd and after the show we were treated to the worlds best whisky.
I always love the drive to Den Helder and again this was a venue I had only perform solo. Vincent at
De Engel took good care of us and made sure we had enough birthday shots to keep us going.
The Moonshine bar where Michel treats everyone like Rockstars, even brought me a cake and chocolates for my birthday. Things like this really make touring special.
Wapen van Vriezenveen wrapped up our last gig on a Sunday and again we were looked after so well.
Thanks so much to the Owners, soundguys, photographers, bar staff, chefs and generally everyone that made us feel so welcome on this tour. Also thanks to Jordy for driving us 1000s of miles and of course to my kick ass #reallycoolband for being really cool.
